NMIFF welcomes the entry of a Short Film “Sugar, my sweet enemy” from Belgium, Directed By Patrice Goldberg.

Without sugar life would not be as sweet as it is. Unfortunately, even if it provides us energy and allows us to find consolation, its secondary effects are numerous and considerable. The overconsumption of sugar in our contemporary diet is a major health issue. In the 19th century, we consumed about 5 kg of sugar per person and per year. Today, in Europe we are approaching the … 40 kg! How did we get there? Is our body able to bear this phenomenon? And what about the alternatives to sugar such as artificial sweetener or the very well-known stevia?
