NMIFF welcomes the entry of a Documentary film “Making of Morya” from INDIA, DIRECTED By Sargam Rana.

"As the name suggests the documentary portrays how Ganpati Idols are made before the celebration of the annual Ganesh Chaturthi in India. It’s an attempt to capture the entire time frame taken right from the ideation till the execution of the Ganpati Idols. It intends to show what factors are responsible & the essence in creating such beautiful Ganpati idols. It tells about the art of making Ganpati Idols which has been originated, passed on to generations & its adaption as a contemporary art form. It comprehends the views of the idol sculptors (ganpati murtikars) on this art form & numerous months of efforts taken by them. Apart from idol making, the
documentary also talks about the traditional form of Ganpati Idol. It also includes some glimpses of the remarkable exuberance of the 11th day of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations."
