NMIFF welcomes the entry of a Short Film “Detached” from Israel, Directed By Sahar Vizel.

Batia, a young mother, decides to dissolve her family. She and her husband Joel separate. Contrary to expectation she decides that her husband will take their little daughter under his charge. But life has a different plan for Batia; Joel disappears mysteriously. For the first time Batia is forced to take the role of a mother and to deal with a child who has a fertile imagination and who refuses to accept the fact that her father disappeared. She believes that he reincarnated into the fish that is found in a deserted car. This is a personal and surrealistic movie about the continual coping with loss, motherhood, and the relationship between mother and daughter.
