3rd Navi Mumbai International Film Festival NMIFF-2016 welcomes the submission of a Feature Film "Stubborn Boy" from Germany, Directed by Moritz Krämer.
"Stubborn Boy" is the story of people of this remote village in the Black Forest don’t talk much, but when they do, it’s in the Alemannic dialect. Hanna (21) has travelled far to work here. She shovels manure, milks cows and tries to cope with the farmer, Uwe Kiefer (39). Rather than sell his milk, he pours it down the drain. The villagers condemn him for continuing the milk strike. Both his
marriage and his finances are on the rocks. As Hanna becomes more involved in Uwe’s troubles, it seems she may be his only hope. But that’s not why she came here. In the neighboring town, she spies on a small family — and then Uwe finds her out.

"YOU DREAMT YOU WERE HAPPY" is the story of Blanka, who has money problems, so she flees from her apartment and goes about her routine – she goes to a humiliating casting, kisses a boy she doesn’t love and visits her estranged parents. She meets an older man who takes her to his luxurious home. Looking around, she notices a gun on a window sill.

"Winter" is the story of Ten year old Farzin and his little sister Gita try to make sense of their mother’s passing and their new home in Canada shortly after the Iranian Revolution in the early 1980’s. For the children, the revolution itself, how and why their mother passed away, and their families religious beliefs or lack thereof are never fully brought to light. These issues belong to the “real world” of grownups, and exist as a subtle backdrop to the inner life of the children- one they must struggle to comprehend and make sense of, all on their own. Upon discovering snow for the fist time, Farzin and Gita use their imagination to create what unfortunately, cannot be true. In doing so, they uncover the harsh reality between truth and imagination and with this loss of innocence, begin their journey out of childhood. Winter is the second in a series of short films titled “Little Whispers”, examining the unique ability children have to use imagination in bearing harsh realities.

"DISSOCIATE" is the story of a mentally unstable person 'Roy'. Roy is standing in front of a shattered glass door, looking out. A man walks past the glass door outside and from a distance the two share a glance.The doctor comes inside the house and Roy and the Dr. meet. A few exchanged glances and the Doctor hands Roy a knife stating 'This will cure you'. Roy exits the room and cry of anguish could be heard from the other room. Roy appears to be stabbing someone and leaves the body of the victim on the floor, but Dr. Scheiffer is nowhere in sight.Dr Scheiffer's bag and hat remains on the table. Roy re-enters the room, but has now appeared to have stabbed himself. Roy is heavily injured and is barely walking and later starts crawling. The body that Roy seemed to have stabbed awhile ago is no where in sight as a struggling Roy crawls away in anguish and pain.

"Underpressure" is the story about Clara, an aspiring gynecologist, is enthusiastically supporting her patients, no matter if they are bringing a child into the world or are making the decision to have an abortion. At the same time, she is attempting to be a good wife and loving mother to her two little children. However, with the increasing pressures of daily life, her self imposed belief systems are beginning to falter, her duties in the clinic suddenly seem insurmountable and her family life is slipping away.

"ZU KLEIN FÜR DIESE WELT-TOO SMALL FOR THIS
WORLD"
is the story of Anne and a strange boy. To enjoy
the day, Anne simply wants to hang out in the park with her little sister.
Lying on the grass, Anne realizes she is being watched by a slender boy, who
has been following and drawing sketches of her. In addition, her ex-boyfriend
would not stop bothering her about getting back together. Once the boy comes
home, his alcoholic father starts bullying and debasing him while the boy
remains silent. When his father is done, the boy hangs up his drawings of Anne
on the walls of his room. The next day Anne is found in the park yet again.
When the boy starts drawing her, she decides that it is time to confront him
about his impertinence. But again, he remains silent and runs away until an
empty park bench strikes him. Memories of a conversation with his older brother
come up, who tries to explain why he cannot accommodate his little brother.
Using sign language, the boy gives vent to his frustration. His brother shows
him a photograph of his new girlfriend, Anne. He asks him to make a drawing of
her. The boy takes the photograph in his own hands and darts off, laughing,
with his brother on his heels. In the middle of the fun chase, his brother gets
hit by a car. A movement catches the boy’s eye and takes him back to the
presence. Not far away, Anne is molested by her ex. The boy calls attention to him
and gets into a fight with the ex-boyfriend. After he slams his pencil into his
rival’s leg and brings him to fall, he runs away in fear, leaving Anne alone.
Several days later, he leaves a note with all his drawings of Anne at her
doorstep and asks for shelter. Anne agrees and lets him in.

An upper middle class couple is just getting cozy on the sofa, when the doorbell rings...A biting- and comedic chamber play.

3rd Navi Mumbai International Film Festival NMIFF-2016 welcomes the submission of a Short Film "Tindog Tacloban - Rice Tacloban" from Phillipines, Directed by Archie Omega.
"Tacloban - Rice Tacloban" is a story that captures the spirit of survival and
resilience of young citizen of Tacloban city in Philippines. Tacloban city was
devastated by a powerful Typhoon Yolanda in November 2013. The survivors of
this powerful Typhoon fought the tragedy with their sheer power of resilience
to spring back to normal life. Their resilience is rooted in their collective
action, optimism, faith in god and their love for life. This documentary
narrates the story of a young man from Tacloban who lost all his family and everything
he owned in Tacloban. He is cared and brought back to life by his friends by
reigniting his love for Dance!

3rd Navi Mumbai International Film Festival NMIFF-2016 welcomes the submission of a Short Film "Not A CCTV" from India,Directed by Ujjwal Basu.
"Not A CCTV" is a story of a frail old woman who is paralyzed from several stroke attacks, bedridden, even cannot speak. Only she can capture incidents by her eyes and store them like CCTV. Her near and dear ones commit their daily mischievous activities, like her son's weakness for the maid, her grandson cheats his father's signature in the Report Card, and her daughter-in-law's illicit relationship, in front of her by ignoring her. And there comes the climax of the story which vehemently announces that she is "NOT A CCTV."
