3rd Navi Mumbai International Film Festival NMIFF-2016 welcomes the submission of a Professional Shorts "Amma" from India, Directed by Neelan Neelakandan.

"Amma" is the film of a woman who has lived through almost a century. The monologue reveals the socio-political changes that had occurred around her during this last century of which she too played an active role herself. Starting from an orthodox Namboothiri Bhrahmin background of utter poverty and high moral dictums, she gets no schooling, for schooling was a taboo for girls then.
